About us

We make brands go places

GoPlaces is a London-based Social Commerce partner. We started in 2024 to bring the discipline of big retail to social commerce, from TikTok Shop to YouTube Shopping.

How it started

It started with a trip to China

In 2024, Sam and Jack travelled to China to see social commerce first-hand, in a market they saw as ten times ahead of the UK.

What struck them was how much a part of daily life it was. People weren't just watching, they were buying thousands of pounds' worth of products in real time. In malls the size of Westfield, shoppers could walk into a Nike store and join a live shopping event running alongside it. Online and offline were one, and brands from Hermès and Louis Vuitton to Under Armour ran professional live studios as part of their stores.

“There's nothing uniquely Chinese about social commerce.”

Sam Jacobs, Co-founder

On the flight home they kept asking one question: why wouldn't this work in the UK? They couldn't find a reason, so they doubled down.

GoPlaces is built on that belief: live shopping is the future of how people buy, everywhere. And doing it properly takes real infrastructure: the people, the studios, the technology and the data.

    Co-founder

Sam spent nearly five years at Coca-Cola, then led e-commerce at AB InBev's ZX Ventures and omnichannel in Europe at Pattern, before co-founding GoPlaces.

Our story

Social commerce needed operators, not just creators

Social commerce agencies were built for virality and reach. Brands selling on Amazon had long relied on structured, data-driven partners. With TikTok, we saw the gap and built GoPlaces to run social commerce the same way: end to end, with our own technology and full transparency.

Our culture code

Six principles behind how we work, with brands and with each other.

  1. Brand obsession

We treat every brand's goals as our own. Client outcomes come first, we protect the brand on and off platform, and we push back on anything that doesn't serve long-term growth.

  2. Results focused, data driven

We decide on evidence, not instinct. We track the numbers closely, use them to challenge assumptions, and always pair them with good judgement.

  3. Built to last

We choose long-term value over short-term wins: lasting partnerships, sustainable growth and systems that scale.

  4. 'Good' isn't good enough

Good is where we start, not where we stop. We test, learn, sweat the details and keep asking how it could be better.

  5. No egos, no bullshit

We're honest and direct, with clients and with each other. We own our mistakes, give feedback with care, and focus on what's right, not who's right.

  6. We're all entrepreneurs

We act like owners. We spot what needs doing, make it happen, and treat every budget as if it were our own.
